  1. YOUR POTENTIAL IS DETERMINED (OR LIMITED) BY YOUR SELF-BELIEF.

For a successful life, self-belief is a great advantage. If you believe in yourself enough you will push through fear and setbacks. You also won’t let the negativity of others discourage you. Self-belief creates breakthroughs, helps you move beyond fears and limiting beliefs, you be more likely to accomplish your goals and realize true desires and turn dreams into reality. You will also have increased opportunities to create fulfilling relationships

A memorable one-liner was “the only thing that’s keeping you from getting what you want is the story you keep telling yourself”.

  1. MOST PEOPLE HAVE SELF-DOUBT AROUND UNIVERSAL THEMES.

Ask anyone and most people will admit they lack confidence in some areas of their life.  These themes cross age, gender, religious, cultural, and language barriers.

Common doubts include ‘I am not good enough, ‘I am lazy’ and ‘No-one loves me’. A successful life means you keep your self-doubt in check – it’s just your thoughts, not facts.

  1. YOU CAN LEARN MECHANISMS TO ELIMINATE SELF-DOUBT.

Cognitive Behavioural therapists call it “exposure” where you break old patterns and build new ones by repetition. The more you use “approach” behavior, the easier it gets. Progress is not automatic, you have to use repetition.

Visualize yourself inside a bubble and inside that bubble is a series of videotapes neatly arranged in a time-line that represented all your memories in your life so far. Pull out the negative videotapes and destroy them. Next, visualise the future and how your life will look 10 and 20 years from now.

  1. BELIEF IMPACTS A SUCCESSFUL LIFE ON MANY LEVELS.

3 things shape our self-belief. Our thoughts (what we FOCUS on and how we perceive life around us), our feelings and our behaviour (is it helpful and value-driven?).

“Where focus goes energy flows”.

  1. OUR VALUES AND BELIEFS SHAPE OUR ACTIONS.

Taking action is the most effective way to destroy your fear and have a successful life. When you get on and do something you will find that your fears are often not valid. But it is only through trying and taking action that you will find this out. If you worry ahead of time and overthink and overanalyze you’ll be too frightened to ever try anything. Eliminate negative self-belief and take massive action and you will be on your way to success.

I know this to be true because I have tried and tested this approach and it definitely works. The more I try, even if I fail, the more confidence I get. Even if something does go wrong, you still survive it and it’s this survival of the tough times and the tough things that show you how resilient you really are.

How are you ever know what you’re capable of if you never push yourself out of your comfort zone and take action?

  1. TO CREATE POSITIVE OUTCOMES YOU MUST TAKE MASSIVE ACTION.

Amazingly, many people fail to take the next step. They delay, put off and find many reasons or excuses not to act and never attain a successful life that they are proud of.

Take action, even if it is the wrong action. It is “never a failure if you learn something”. So many people believe that failure must be avoided at all costs. It’s important to consider how you define failure. In my mind, failure is living a safe life and never try anything.  I would far rather fail many times and learn more about myself and feel that I am in ‘The Thick of life’ than play it safe and live with regrets when I’m older. To me, a successful life contains many failures.

  1. MATCHING & MIRRORING CREATES CONNECTION, TRUST & EMPATHY.

Interpersonal communication skills can take you to the next level. When you ain’t seen with others and you can create rapport you will make many more connections in life. Don’t be afraid to take the initiative because often everyone is afraid of rejection. You will be pleasantly surprised by the amount of positive responses you get from others when you take the initiative and reach out first.

The process of “matching and mirroring” is a non-verbal communication and body language that involves mirroring others and it can be a very powerful way to connect with people.

In essence, you create rapport by adopting the body language of the person you are communicating with. A successful life on your own won’t be the same when you have no one to share it with.

Rapport is power” and “total responsiveness is created by a feeling of commonality”.

If you have learned these techniques before and haven’t used them for a while, I suggest it is time to dust them off and put them into action next time you are communicating with someone on a one-to-one basis.

  1. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE IF YOU FOCUS ON PASSION AND PURPOSE.

In order to have an extraordinary quality of life, you need two skills: the science of achievement (the ability to take anything you envision and make it real) and the art of fulfilment (this allows you to enjoy every moment of it). Success without fulfilment is failure. Perfectionists are a good example of those who constantly strive to achieve but once they have achieved, they do not feel fulfilled. This is because they do not own their brilliance and instead criticise themselves regularly.

Find your passion and purpose in life. My purpose is to make a difference in people’s lives and help people to feel more content and at peace. Peace of mind is rare these days.

  1. MODEL YOURSELF ON OTHER ACHIEVERS.

To gain improvements quickly and step up to a new level of achievement,  learn from others who are the best in their field is one of the fastest way to achieve success.

Who could you model yourself on? Think about someone that you admire or that inspires you. Next, visualise have a would deal with some of the difficulties you have in your own life. This removes the emotional element if you have when you look at your own life and can help you to gain confidence. “Acting as if” is a killer confidence trick that can take you from acting to automatic confidence. Repetition is key.

“People’s lives are a direct reflection of the expectations of their peer group.

  1. SUCCESS IS BUILT ON A HEALTHY, HIGH ENERGY BODY, HEART AND MIND

If you are not healthy – all of the above points are a waste of time. Your health is determined and influenced by your lifestyle. One major change I’ve made is to eat a healthier diet and exercise more regularly.

Success is directly linked to your diet and health. Take care of yourself, your body is ultimately your most important asset.

So, stop listening to your inner bully that tells you about all the things that might go wrong. Consider your values and start living life in line with what’s most important to you. Embrace change as see it as a good thing. Don’t allow yourself to become stagnant. Keep going and don’t give up.

You can do it! You can get there..you can take small steps on the way to a successful life as long as they are in the right direction – life isn’t a race.
