All you need is love

When all is said and done and the chips are down…what we really all want and need is love. To feel special to someone and to know that if something happens to us, there will be at least one person that wonders where we are.
Finding love is another matter altogether. People play games. People accumulate emotional baggage and put up emotional barriers which keeps them from the very thing they want. There’s the constant fear of infidelity and many issues that can go against the union of love.
When it is right though, it can be a wonderful thing. I worked for several months at a care home for the eldelrly. The ward I was on specialised in dementia care. It was heart warming to see the spouse’s of those on the ward attending daily. Even though their life long loved one no longer recognised them, they would be there every day with a smile on their face and a helping hand.
It restored my faith in humans. There is a lot of love in the world if you look for it. People are more willing to help and be of service than many of us give each other credit for.
I comfort myself by reminding myself that those who are selfish and mean spirited live with that toxic attitude inside themselves and can’t be very happy people.
Happy, contented people have a lot of good to give and don’t mind helping out. They are philanthropists at heart.
Give a little bit of love and it will come back to you somehow, in someway. This world could always always use a little more love…
