For instance, one of the first things you should learn as a cannabis beginner is the different cannabis strains and their corresponding effects. When we talk about cannabis, we typically talk about three types of strains: indica, sativa, and hybrid.

Those looking for a lasting sensation to help them calm down or even feel drowsy will benefit from an indica strain. On the other hand, those looking for cannabis’ uplifting and energizing effects should consider a sativa strain. Then again, if you want a stronger strain that is a happy medium between both sativa and indica, your best option would be a hybrid strain

Not Understanding Different Consumption Methods

As a beginner, you may not know that different cannabis consumption methods offer different kinds of highs and different kinds of effects. So, if you are consuming marijuana for the first time, you might consider trying an edible before smoking as it offers a much different experience and can be more tolerable.

However, know that while it may seem like a more simple method of consumption, it is actually far more potent and difficult to grasp for a variety of different reasons. Edibles take a very long time to kick in compared to smoking or vaping, and this could leave newcomers feeling as if they need to have more in the early stages if they are not feeling much. This could lead people to have far more than they can actually handle and give them a miserable experience.


Consuming Too Much

Following on from the previous point where edibles can make it easier for you to consume too much without even noticing it until it is too late, as a beginner, you should start slow and build it up until you know what your tolerance is.

Overindulging in cannabis can be dangerous and can lead to a disastrous experience, including excessive drowsiness, nausea, and even panic or an uncomfortable sensation. As a beginner, you will not yet know your tolerance level, and this is why starting slow and building it up over time is a good idea.

Not Storing Cannabis Properly

Storage is yet another crucial thing to consider, but many people don’t realize this since they often obtain weed that is already dried and ready for consumption. However, you need to note that the drier your weed becomes, the more potent it gets. This could leave you consuming far more than you can handle despite still having the same amount of cannabis.
