Employee Assistance Programme with a difference

I qualified as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) this year after completing a two year Post-Graduate CBT course at New Buckinghamshire University. It’s one of the toughest courses I have ever experienced and left me with a renewed respect for qualified CBT counsellors who are accredited with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).

Currently, I run a private practice and see individuals and couples needing therapy. I really want to promote CBT and expand it’s use to help others. The more I thought about it, the more I felt I needed to do something. So Headscience was created. Headscience is an Employee Assistance Programme offering CBT counselling to employees. Many Employee Assistance programmes offer counselling but Headscience offers only CBT as this is the best form of therapy for corporates – it is time bound and structured. CBT sessions are delivered by Skype as this is cost and time efficient.

CBT counsellors are all educated to post-grad level and are highly skilled professionals. Using the services of an EAP can:

  • Improve employee productivity
  • Reduce absenteeism
  • Help a company retain talented staff
  • Promote cohesion and a sense of loyalty at work

It makes sense to me to use an Employee Assistance Programme and evidence has shown that this intervention has a positive impact on employees and the workplace.
