Getting To Know Matchmaking And Dating Apps

“Matchmaking”

Now, that’s a word you get to hear often in 2019. After all, the world has gone cyber and everything happens so fast that a single blink can make you miss out on a lot of things. These days, people are not so earnest when it comes to finding love. If they can have it instantly, they would – not that it’s a problem, though. Many things may have changed throughout the years but one thing has always remained constant:

“Every person’s yearning to love and to be loved.”

No matter what people may tell you, the need for affection and acceptance is inherent to everyone who is living and breathing on top of this planet. They may tell you otherwise and say things like “I have no need for such troublesome feelings in my life” or “I don’t have time for that!” But deep down, they all long for a certain someone to reach out to them and save them from their own demons. If I’m not telling the truth, then why do you think matchmaking apps are so popular?

What Is Matchmaking?

Well, if it isn’t obvious enough, it’s the process of finding your soulmate. It is believed that somewhere out there, your perfect match is just waiting for you, having the same problems as you when it comes to matters of the heart. This is because you are meant for each other that your other relationships don’t work out. It is only when you find each other that everything slowly falls into place.

Have you ever heard about the Japanese myth of the red string of fate?

This is actually a very popular story among young adults and hopeless romantics in Japan. According to the myth, it is said that there is an invisible red string attached to your little finger connecting to your destined person’s little finger as well. This red string symbolizes your invisible bond to each other and that someday, no matter where life takes you, you are bound to have a fateful encounter. This red string of fate will make sure of that. You can check out this short fil to understand it better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3dZ8xrztmw

This story is like an Asian version of our concept of a soulmate. As adults, I know that you probably question your own romantic beliefs. In fact, I think you try to dissuade yourself from believing that such a fairy tale can happen to you in real life. After all, stories like these are for little girls, right? And as for grownups like us, we need to forget about such fantasies and start looking at life more practically.

However, despite what you tell yourself, I know that you want to experience that romantic spark in your life as well. No matter how “grown-up” you think you are, there will always be that little girl inside you seeking for her happily ever after – this goes for guys too, you know! I know this because you came to this article today. It means that you still believe, you still hope, and you still want to put your faith in love.

Matchmaking is not exactly a new concept. It has been around for generations. It’s just that it has evolved over the years. Like, a couple decades ago, did you know that companies would make people answer a really lengthy questionnaire just so they can match them with people of similar interests? People were really, really serious about matchmaking at the time. And while it worked most of the time, it was too time-consuming and effortful to keep up so I guess they just did away with it. In recent years, however, matchmaking has been simplified. It now even feels more personal. Rather than answering a very long questionnaire and having some random person grade your personality traits for you, it is now possible to search for your own match more discreetly. It’s just you, your internet, and a matchmaking website like Dating Throne

This is all possible with the help of dating apps.

Modern-day dating apps like Tinder, Grindr, and Cupid help you find your perfect match at your own discretion. Compared to traditional methods of dating and meeting people, dating apps are a lot faster too. This is exactly why it is often dubbed as “speed dating.” Things happen so fast, in fact, that you can meet someone in the morning and go to a date with them in the evening.

Although convenient, many people still have mixed emotions when it comes to dating apps. People think it’s making the whole idea of love “laughable.” After all, any connection you establish overnight (or within just a few hours even) will definitely have no depth and the “love” you probably feel is nothing but mere physical attraction. While there is some truth to that, it isn’t always what happens to all people. I think it’s safe to say that the outcome of your speed-dating experience really depends on what kind of connection you are searching for. If you’re looking for just someone to spend the night with, then you’re definitely just going to end up with someone who’s just looking for a booty call. But if you’re really serious about finding a life partner, then a guy who means the same will certainly come along (read more about this)

As I said, myth as it may be, the red string of fate might really exist if you believe in it. And no matter how far or how different your lives may be at this time, the whole universe will find a way to bring the two of you together. Dating app or no dating app, someone out there is destined for you. It just so happens that dating apps make the search a whole lot easier. They make it thrice as fast too. But even if you find a potential partner rather quickly, that doesn’t mean you can’t take things slow.

So, what do you think? Are you ready to take the plunge?
