Talk to Them
We don’t mean directly ask them again, that probably won’t get you the answers you need. Instead, engage in conversation about anything and everything. See if you can coax out of them if they need something for a hobby or around the home. Maybe it’s not a physical gift they need. Instead, they could require assistance with something. And whilst you may not think offering your help is a great gift idea, they may appreciate that more than an expensive gesture.
Do they need some childcare whilst they go for a haircut, or a date night with their partner? Or something more simple like help around the house if they are struggling to manage. Sometimes it is the thought that goes into the gift that speaks louder than the money spent on it!
Get Out and About
If they don’t need more ‘stuff’ then how about experiences? Gifting something to someone that they can create memories doing will always be a wonderful gift idea. Especially if they may not be able to afford to do it themselves.
For a fan of musicals, how about gifting london theatre tickets so they can catch the show they have been dying to see. Or how about whisking someone off to a spa break so they can get some much-needed rest and relaxation. These kinds of gifts show you have put thought and care into what they would like and appreciate and not just bought something for the sake of buying it!
What Hobbies Do They Have?
If you are really struggling, then a gift that relates to any hobbies they have will always be welcome. What do they do in their spare time? If you know then you can run with this idea. Do you have a keen sewer in need of a new sewing machine? Or a knitter in need of some new wool to create their next design. It may be a simple idea but it shows you care about what they would like and are supportive of what they choose to do with their time.
By simply finding out what they like to do you can be as creative as you wish when it comes to lavishing them with gifts, be it physical products or the gift or your time and assistance.
Opt For Classic Gift Items In Case Of Doubt
There is a reason that traditional gift items like flowers and cakes are still in vogue. Their appeal and attraction are easy to understand. If you are confused bath sets and bathing salts, why not go for something that has timeless appeal? I have still not come across someone who does not appreciate a nice and beautiful bouquet of flower! Nor have I met someone that detests something as delicious as a cake.
You can always add a dash of surprise to make things interesting. For example, you can order flowers online or in a gift box and get it delivered to the home or office of the recipient of the gift. This way they will not only appreciate the gift, but the way they got it.
