Insomnia is a growing problem. Why is it that we can’t sleep? It seems there isn’t one specific reason but the obvious causes might be that we are mentally active far more than we ever used to be. Technology calls on us 24/7 and we are subjected to an onslaught of constant information from the time we wake up until we go to sleep. This overactivity could be having serious long term consequences on our brain’s chemistry.

We all have expectations placed upon us and this can lead to excessive worrying. On top of that, we live in an ever increasing competitive world and trying to solve daily problems puts a strain on our emotional well being and mental health.

If you want to enjoy better sleep, it’s a good idea to go back to basics. Ban technology from the bedroom and stick to a regular bedtime routine.
