#WorldKindnessDay: Friday 13 November 2020, 14hr-19hr GMT

Join the Kindness Revolution ….

Hosted by Teamkind #Kindfest2020 brings together some of the world’s leading thinkers with inspirational agents of kindness such as Captain Sir Tom Moore – the 100-year-old war veteran who inspired a nation with his record-breaking fundraiser during lockdown – alongside his daughter Hannah Ingram Moore, to discuss personal, professional and political kindness.

#Kindfest2020 will offer practical solutions to creating kinder lives, workplaces, and communities, and putting kindness at the core of building back a better and fairer post pandemic world.

“If you smile at someone maybe they’ll smile back, and just the same with kindness; if you show some kindness to people then maybe you’ll get a little bit in return. It is in important that we show kindness to a lot of people because they are so short of kindness. It’s rather like loneliness….[this is why] Kindfest will be a great benefit to all people.” Captain Sir Tom Moore

A not-for-profit virtual festival, #Kindfest2020 is part of the kindness revolution, a global movement united against the rise of toxic and polarizing tribalism. Come, be inspired, and join a growing and supportive global community championing empathy and kindness.

“It is essential to explore new ways of working together right now. We need to spread kindness and support people who are struggling – be they our children, loved ones, colleagues or strangers. Kindfest2020 is a chance to come together, recharge our batteries and stock up our kindness reserves” Susie Hills, Kindfest Founder and Kinder Lives Curator

Join the thousands of people already signed-up. Discover the latest psychological, health, business management and economic research on kindness.  Hear about the profound impact it can have on health, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, creativity, innovation, performance, profits, and growth.

“Without a shadow of a doubt, kindness transforms lives. It bolsters, soothes, fortifies, and ignites something in others in a way that’s instantaneous and long-lasting – the sheer memory of the kind act providing warmth for years to come. KindFest is like a shining beacon on the horizon in what has felt, to many of us, to be an unkind year. I’m excited to be a speaker among such an incredibly curated list of speakers and very honored that The Blurt Foundation has been chosen as one of the charity partners.” Jayne Hardy, Founder & CEO, The Blurt Foundation

Vanessa Longley, YoungMinds Director of Development said, “We are delighted to partner with #Kindfest2020, to spread the word about the importance of young people’s mental health, the importance of being kind to ourselves and others, and the need to come together, albeit virtually, during what has been a difficult and tumultuous year.”

About Team Kind

An online community of volunteers who believe that kindness can change the world and that right now kindness is needed more than ever. It exists to promote, learn from, share and celebrate kindness.

#Kindfest2020 is the brainchild of Susie Hills. Susie is a kindness spotter, and the kickstarter of #Teamkind – an online community of people highlighting and celebrating kindness. In 2019, she was named as one of Unilever’s Leading Lights in Kindness’ in the Financial Times. Susie has a background in fundraising, having led the University of Exeter’s ‘Creating a World Class University Together’ campaign – raising over £25m and quadrupling annual philanthropic income.

Susie is regularly asked to present on kindness in leadership – having recently done so for organisations such as AUA and CASE Europe. She also writes regularly on kindness on her LinkedIn page and also for Halpin, where she is the Joint CEO and Co-founder – a management consultancy for nonprofits who strive to make the world a better place.

Anyone can join #teamkind… we are just a network of people who want the world to be kinder. We aren’t superheroes, but kindness is definitely a super power!” Susie Hills, Founder Team Kind.

The Captain Tom Foundation

In summer 2020 Captain Sir Tom united the nation and gave hope when it was needed most. Carrying on his journey, and as a result of the unprecedented support he and his family have received, The Foundation has been set up to continue to inspire people and ensure Tom’s message of hope becomes an enduring legacy. The “Captain Tom effect” reached well beyond his own charity walk. His actions inspired the fundraising of many more millions of pounds, throughout the world, giving motivation to everyone from five-year-old British school children to war veterans in Russia, Canada and Africa. Subsequently, The Foundation also wishes to inspire a new generation of Captain Toms.
