About Team Kind
An online community of volunteers who believe that kindness can change the world and that right now kindness is needed more than ever. It exists to promote, learn from, share and celebrate kindness.
#Kindfest2020 is the brainchild of Susie Hills. Susie is a kindness spotter, and the kickstarter of #Teamkind – an online community of people highlighting and celebrating kindness. In 2019, she was named as one of Unilever’s Leading Lights in Kindness’ in the Financial Times. Susie has a background in fundraising, having led the University of Exeter’s ‘Creating a World Class University Together’ campaign – raising over £25m and quadrupling annual philanthropic income.
Susie is regularly asked to present on kindness in leadership – having recently done so for organisations such as AUA and CASE Europe. She also writes regularly on kindness on her LinkedIn page and also for Halpin, where she is the Joint CEO and Co-founder – a management consultancy for nonprofits who strive to make the world a better place.
Anyone can join #teamkind… we are just a network of people who want the world to be kinder. We aren’t superheroes, but kindness is definitely a super power!” Susie Hills, Founder Team Kind.

The Captain Tom Foundation
In summer 2020 Captain Sir Tom united the nation and gave hope when it was needed most. Carrying on his journey, and as a result of the unprecedented support he and his family have received, The Foundation has been set up to continue to inspire people and ensure Tom’s message of hope becomes an enduring legacy. The “Captain Tom effect” reached well beyond his own charity walk. His actions inspired the fundraising of many more millions of pounds, throughout the world, giving motivation to everyone from five-year-old British school children to war veterans in Russia, Canada and Africa. Subsequently, The Foundation also wishes to inspire a new generation of Captain Toms.
