Law of Attraction

law of attraction

The Law of Attraction states that whatever you think about, you attract into your life. This is a simplistic approach and there are many arguments for and against which I’m not going to go into in this post.

We all experience life through our own subjective reality, we do not experience life directly. The only conscious experience we have is our own- this is our reality. If you think about war, famine and poverty then that is what you will manifest. If you think about abundance and prosperity, that is what will manifest through your own consciousness.

Perhaps it isn’t as simple as thinking about a Ferrari and having one land on your doorstep before breakfast but it does seem true that if we wallow in negativity, we tend to experience more negativity and misery. Plant a seed of positivity and little by little it will grow. The more we champion ourselves and believe we deserve good things in life, the more likely it is to arrive. The way we think affects the way we behave and these small changes can make a big difference in the long run.

Regularly tell yourself things like “I am safe”, “everything is working out as it should”, “what I need is waiting for me”…watch the negative self talk, this leads nowhere and isn’t helpful or productive in any way.

Many Psychologists believe that the Law of Attraction is an unhealthy concept.  They challenge the idea that thought alone creates good or bad and manifests exactly what you think. The Law of Attraction definitely places all responsibility upon each individual to make good in their own lives. I can’t believe though that if you are overweight, it is because you are thinking “fat” thoughts..sounds a bit bizarre to me.

Ultimately though, positive thinking and less wallowing can only be beneficial and if the Law of Attraction at least allows you to leap onto a brighter path, then that’s a good start.
