Having kids is one of the best things that will ever happen to you. Your children will quickly become the light of your life and you will wonder just how you ever managed without them. Yet you might also find along the way that you lose yourself a little. You no longer may feel like “you” and instead you’re just “Mum.” This is why it’s so important to do what you can to boost your confidence and remind you of who you were before you had your children. If you find you’re feeling a little lost or a bit low, we have some top tips to boost your confidence after having kids.

Have a pamper day

When it comes to boosting your confidence, sometimes all you need is a good pamper to help you feel like you again. Go to a salon and get your hair and nails done, or head to a spa and have a massage. You could even just have an at-home pamper day where you buy your own nail stuff, have a face mask and wax. When you know you are looking your best you feel so much more confident and it can be great to look in the mirror and feel like your old self again.

Treat yourself to something new

When you have children, so much of the time your money is spent on them. You have to buy them new clothes all the time and are always putting them first. To treat yourself and boost your confidence, why not treat yourself to something new? There are so many things you could purchase, from a new dress that makes you look fantastic to some new underwear – you can shop for lace bras here. Whether you shop online or in a physical store, take your time and really enjoy doing something that’s just for your own enjoyment and as a treat.

Go on a night out

You might have gone on girls nights out all the time before your little one entered the world, but now never seem to have the time or can be bothered when it rolls around. While you might be tired, you’ll never regret going on a night out with the girls so make time in your schedule to do it. Book in for dinner and cocktails somewhere that you can get dressed up in clothes that make you feel amazing, where you can put some makeup on and go and just forget about your responsibilities for a night. You’ll feel so much better the next day (aside from perhaps a sore head from too many gin and tonics!)

These are just a few things that you can do to help boost your confidence after you’ve had kids. While it might be hard to step out of your comfort zone and be you again after so long, you will feel so much better once you have. Have you recently been working to gain your confidence back? If so, what have you done? Let us know in the comments below we’d love to hear from you.
