When all is said and done

twilight photosunset photoIt’s so easy to get caught up in the daily drama of life. When all is said and done though, very little of what we think and do each day will be remembered. At the time, life can seem overwhelming and we can all catastrophize over what is happening to us. The important thing is to keep perspective and to see the bigger picture when life gets tough. Remind yourself that difficult times pass and that once some time has passed, the current challenge will be reduced in intensity.

This ability to maintain perspective has helped me enormously in life. Whenever life gets ‘on top of me’, I always repeat the words, “This too shall pass”. I enjoy life and feel very connected to my surroundings but I  never forget the importance of emotional detachment when life is really testing me. This is when emotional detachment and perspective can be great skills to possess.

Think about what is most important to you and forget the rest. My health, friends and family are closest to my heart…daily life admin can stress me out too but this is where I am disciplined in keeping persepctive. Damaged material possessions. mix ups at the bank or irritating sales calls at home – these all have the potential to annoy me immensely but I have learned not to sweat the smal stuff.

Learn to rise above the smal stuff and keep persepctive on what id really important when all is said and done.
