There have been quite a few times in my life when I have assumed I needed permission to do something. I think this came from being a child and being told “No” a lot. I have also had the thought, “If that person can do it then it must be okay”. A random example of this might be seeing someone wearing a certain outfit that I thought wouldn’t be allowed. Any time when someone has done something out of the ordinary I have considered them brave.
Actually though – you don’t need permission. If it isn’t illegal, you don’t need permission. You also don’t need to wait for someone else to do it first before it becomes permissible. Lift off the limiting self beliefs.
Be free and give yourself permission to be different, to have an opinion and to act in a way that is in line with who you truly are. Maybe someone else would do things differently but you are unique and it’s up to you to be true to yourself.
You don’t need permission to be quirky, unconventional or to speak your mind. Too often we try to fit in. In many ways we are conditioned to be people pleasers. Please yourself for a change. I am not saying you should become a selfish git, I am just saying that you can throw off the shackles of societal pressure to be a certain way! How liberating is that?
Do what you want, say what you want – you don’t need permission.
